... I would study French in high school instead of Spanish. Amazing how much I'm realizing I actually do remember. Amazing and unhelpful.

hehe :-)And from what I heard it does not get easier with time to learn french... like when you get into the "imparfait" and "plus que imparfait" and "subjonctif" and "conditionel". Personnaly I never understood it.Hopefully I'm french so it comes with the package! But I don't wont to discurage you :-)
If Portuguese is any indication, it actually does get easier with time...most of the really difficult tenses (not all of the subjunctive, but most) are the same as the English equivalents, for the most part. Which means that your Spanish will help you a lot, as of course will your English. Good luck! :-)
I have to admit my ability to recognise tenses be they perfect, subjunctive or just downright bugger all, is just not happening anymore. However working in at FF I am finding my confidence to speak French to the customers (and getting a bit of a buzz out of it)has increased. I understand them, they seem to understand me - so we are all happy.
I still find myself when trying to remember ownership apostrophes en Anglais putting the words in order the would be in French! Must admit that is rather an odd thing do . . .
La Francais est une langue tres jolie (can I use that in that context??).
Not confident enough to try writing it here though . . . not with Myriam lurking about : )
